Actually, Asheville is better known (and enforced) as a city where white people can visit and not have to worry about seeing any black people. They've all been herded out of downtown and reside in one neighborhood where cops regularly visit and beat them up. White Lauren got a good feeling while she was there.

Pieces of information you left out (I understand, because you were probably educated in the US like I was) include that the US had a heavy hand in destabilizing the government in Cambodia which means that the US had a lot to do with the Khmer Rouge taking power. The US was heavily cluster-bombing Cambodia "secretly" and illegally and that's a big reason you saw all the "amputees running around." Our government did that. Unexploded ordinates continue to maim and kill people in Laos and Cambodia where I have been teaching an average of once a week--more than 50 years after the bombs were dropped. I spoke with a smiling older US vet driving a sports car while teaching in the US 5 years ago who was one of the people who loaded those bombs on planes in Thailand bound for Laos and Cambodia. I've spoken with a man my age raised by monks after all the people in his family were blown up by US bombers in a raid over Phnom Penh. Keep in mind how the US contributed to making all of what you saw happen and still does. Additionally, there's lots of harm in it being a christian organization you were suggesting at first. It's a big problem here. My students come to me often talking about being approached by "christians" who will give them food, friendship, and teach them English, but only of they convert to christianity. There are high cost "christian" run schools that offer substantial discounts if the students will convert. I'm glad when I hear students saying, "And, they believe WHAT!?" as they are told what they are agreeing to. Then christian hate and prejudice makes inroads. It's happened through colonization by christian countries on all continents. They even try to force poor children into christianity through baseball here. They know no boundaries and it's hard to see children excluded. If you are from the United States, keep in mind that the experience of houselessness and lack of access to healthcare are monumental issues there. Those are additional reasons I live here; I am retired and there is absolutely no way my social security income is enough to have the beautiful housing situation I have here along with healthy good food that I want (with a master's degree, I experienced homelessness and scarcity of food many times in the US). The US is disgusting when it comes to healthcare. Healthcare is accessible and a fraction of the cost in the US. Healthcare in the US is the most expensive in the World. Look at what has happened in the government of the US and continues since you posted this and be careful about thinking righteously about calling other governments "corrupt". The country has it's problems and their is much room for improvement, but the US is no "standard" to look up to with any of the issues you mentioned in your video. "Landgrabbing"?
